The ancient structure of the Erechtheion's construction showcases the resolve and strong structural abilities of the Greeks. The temple has three porches, to the east, south, and north. The north and the east porches are on a slope and are higher than the rest of the temple. Out of the various temples in Athens, the significance of this temple is the Caryatids on the north porch. Six pillars with sculptures of women holding the structure on their heads, the Caryatids are beautifully crafted with details that leave the tourists in awe. Another significant feature of the temple is the area on which it was built, replacing several ancient temples and shrines. It is rumored to be the place where Zeus struck with his trident resulting in the creation of the city.
