About Rosenborg Castle

A magnificent Renaissance monument in central Copenhagen's large park in, Rosenborg Castle glows in rich past of Denmark.  The palace is furnished in Denmark  17th to 19th centuries' absolute monarch style. The fabulous Danish crown jewels and the royal treasury are housed in the basement cellars of the castle. Rosenborg  hugely popular with visitors  during the tourist season from April to September. Visitors receive a map with basic information. The layout is simple with a route through three floors of the museum in the castle and two more in the cellars housing the treasury and crown jewels. This Palace with the Danish crown jewels is one of the most popular sights to see in Copenhagen.

Rosenborg Castle is Denmark's renaissance castle in Copenhagen. It is an example of Christian IV's many architectural projects. Here visitors can see how the royal lived during that time. The main attractions being medieval version of intercom systems, the speaking tubes and the the dining halls. Castle's collection of Danish crown jewels is the favorite attraction for visitors. Its superb architecture is admirable. The cellars of Rosenborg has a variety of items on display including a range of weaponry, scientific instruments, a gilt toy soldiers set, wine barrels, ivory and amber items, as well as jewelry. A set of Colt revolvers that Abraham Lincoln gifted to King Frederik VII is also displayed here..

How to reach


By Bus: There is a direct bus No 26  from Hovedbanegården to  Nørreport every five minutes. The journey takes approximately 9 minutes.Copenhagen Central Station to Rosenborg Slot bus services, operated by Movia, depart from Hovedbanegården station.

By Train: You can take a direct train from København H station to Nørreport Station near Rosenborg. Ut runs every five minutes

By Taxi: Travelling by a taxi is the another option

Tips

• Don't forget to  receive a map with basic information of the Castle 

• Better to purchase a combined ticket with Rosenborg Palace. It can be purchased for DKK145 and is valid for 36 hours

• Preserve tickets for the second inspection as  separate entrances to the north of the palace are used

• Eat at the best street food markets. You will never run out of delicious opportunities
