About Kings Park and Botanic Garden

It is a 400 hectare garden offering spectacular views of Perth's skyline. Home to the majestic State Botanical Gardens, it is a perfect spot for a long, peaceful stroll or even for a picnic or a barbeque. It is located 1.6 kilometres from central Perth and sits at an altitude of about 43 metres. It is home to the State War Memorial built in memory of the fallen soldiers. The botanical garden, situated within Kings Park, is home to 13000 species of Australian plants.

  • Visit the 750 year old Baobab Tree.
  • Explore the Rio Tinto Naturescape which is a perfect spot for picnics, family outings, and excursions.

  • Undertake the Bushland Nature Trail to enjoy the flora and fauna of Kings Park.
  • Visit the 15 metre DNA Tower which is distinctively shaped like a DNA molecule. It represents life development.
