About John Forrest National Park

The John Forrest National Park is an easy day out for visitors as it is a 30-minute drive from Perth. Originally declared a conservation reserve in 1898, it is the oldest national park in Western Australia. It is the best place for viewing Australian native wildlife and to explore hiking and waterfall trails, as it is home to two waterfalls which flow during the months of Winter and Spring. Walking, horse trails, mountain bike trails, and picnic areas are the recreational facilities available inside the park. Witness more than 500 species of wildflowers through a slow drive along the park road. The park houses 91 species of birds, 23 species of reptiles, 10 species of frogs, and 10 species of native mammals. John Forrest National Park is a starting point for many walking trails. It is a popular venue for families and groups looking to relax.
