About Uco Valley

The Uco Valley is a viticultural region of Mendoza, also considered as one of the top wine producing areas in the world. How to reach

The Uco Valley is located to the west of Mendoza city, almost 80 km from the city center. Fare is around 3300 ARS. The wineries in the Uco valley follow the 'The Wine Road' or the Provincial route 89. The best way to visit the valley is to rent a car and drive around. If you plan to taste wine, it is advised to hire a driver to roam around. Bus services to Uco Valley are limited.

  • Spring and Autumn are the best seasons to visit Uco Valley as the temperature is best suitable to travel around and enjoy.
  • Light clothes during the day and warm clothes during the night are advised.
  • The harvest festival during February is the best time to visit Uco Valley as it is the time of harvest and parades and all other festivities.
  • Reservations are a must to visit wineries and should be done at least a day before.
  • Plan to visit a maximum of 3 wineries a day including lunch.
  • Most wineries do not accept credit cards, and so it is better to carry cash.
  • A typical wine tour may last around 2 hours.
  • It is better to get the help of a travel agency to visit Uco Valley as they may know the location and service better.
  • Make use of the winery visit at the most. The owners and winemakers will help you enjoy the wine tour by answering as many questions as possible. And enjoy the wine on the go.
