Buenos Aires has many fine museums to dazzle art lovers, and the Museo Nacional de Belles Artes (MNBA), opened in 1895 boasts of the world's largest collection of Argentine art and one of the very best in the city. The highlights from the Latin American section include the gaucho portraits by Cesáreo Bernaldo de Quirós and Cándido López's thrilling battle scenes. The MNBA, which moved to its present location in 1932, also contains the finest collection of European art in Latin America. In its numerous galleries dedicated to art from the Middle Ages to the 20th-century, one can view sublime masterpieces from masters such as Rembrandt, Tiepolo, Goya, Daubigny, Monet, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Degas and Picasso to name a few.
