About Valleys of Cappadocia

Situated southwest of the city Kayseri, the Valleys of Cappadocia comprise of the towns and locales of Selime, Göreme, Ihlara Valley, Avanos, Guzelyurt, Zelve and Uçhisar. There’s railway and airline service available to Istanbul, Ankara as well as other cities. A geographical marvel, the wondrous shapes of the terrains are a result of many years of erosion and taking further inspiration from nature, mankind carved a series of tunnels and caves into the soft rocks. In 1985, UNESCO declared the rock sites of Cappadocia and the National Park of Göreme a World Heritage site. The astounding topography is reminiscent of the ancient underground settlements and is a testament to the brilliance of Byzantine art.
