This is 6.5 Km from the city center

By Bus:

The MyCiti Bus system is a cheap and reliable option. It transports passengers to the Cableway station on Route Number 110

By Taxi:

If you are taking a taxi, it will cost you R 260 - R 310 and takes about 15 minutes

 There are many ways up to Table Mountain and getting on its top is easier than ever. The most popular way up is through the cable car, a fast and secure way of transportation that serves visitors since 1929

 

Tips

  • Buy tickets online, visit tablemountain.net and purchase your morning or afternoon tickets online
  • Please note that only online tickets bought at Webtickets, Cape Town Tourism, and City Sightseeing South Africa will be accepted
  • One can park at the Lower Tafelberg Road parking lot and can take the free MyCiti 110 shuttle to the Lower Cableway Station
  • Free Table Mountain Tour, every day on the hour from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there is a free 30-minute guided tour where you can join to learn more about the iconic landmark
  • The seniors' concession rate is available 7 days a week with a valid South African ID
  • The students' concession rate is available 7 days a week with a valid international or local student card
  • Children under 4, travel for free
  • Cableway tickets bought via any other websites (other than Webtickets) are not valid
  • You can take one-way or return tickets
  • Online tickets can be purchased and printed from any computer or shown on-screen on a mobile device
  • ​Online tickets are valid for 7 days from the chosen date (except early-access tickets) and can be refunded during this period
  • No cash refunds are given on online tickets 
  • SANParks Wild/My Green Cardholders enjoy a 20% discount (only available from our ticket office)
  • The sale of Cableway tickets via third parties is not permitted at the Lower and Upper Stations
  • Check whether cableway is available for the day on their website. They may shut it down on windy days
  • Carry good walking shoes
  • Take sun lotion, sunglasses, a warm jacket. It could get windy and cold at the top
  • Photography is allowed so carry a camera 
  • Carry some water and snacks with you

  • Table Mountain - Cable car ticket is paid 
  • The southern area towards Cape Point.
  • Adult: R255/135
  • Children (4-17 years): R125/65
  • Children 3 years and under: free
  • Discounts on Fridays only (available at the ticket office only) for:
    • South African seniors (60 and over): R100/53
    • Local and international students: R130/70

Daily park fees (valid until 31 Oct 2017):

  • Boulders - adults R70 per person, children R35 (you can see the penguins without having to pay any fees, but the penguins' private beach is managed by TMNP and an entry fee is charged.)
  • Cape of Good Hope - adults R135 per person, children R70
  • Silvermine - adults R50 per person, children R25
  • Oudekraal - adults R40 per person, children R25
  • Perdekloof picnic site - adults R15 per person, children R7
