Indeed, a magnificent adventure close to the town. Lions Head stands 669 meters above sea level. Like the table mountain, it also has a flat top. Its rise captures the mind-blowing views of Cape Town from above. It is a good place to kick off your hiking expeditions. The hike is relatively short, lasting around two to three hours. The trail winds its way around the mountain and offers astounding views along the way, but you will need to get to the summit for the best possible view ever! The route is clearly marked and is easy to climb. There is a little rock scrambling close to the summit. The trail has metal ladders and climbing chains required to ascend the rock at one point. You can try this if you are the adventurous type. Thankfully, there is also a roundabout footpath that you can use instead. The Lion's head is the most popular spot among hikers, with an easy climb, amazing workout, and jaw-dropping scenic views. Definitely, this should go in your bucket list.
It is 4.5 Km from the city center.
