About Blue Church of St. Elizabeth (Modry Kostol)

Right out of a fairy-tale, Bratislava’s most appealing art nouveau building is the beautiful Blue Church. The magnificent building is a perfect sight for your sore eyes. Everything about this church is strikingly blue, its facade is blue, the mosaics are blue, the majolicas are blue, including the pale blue-glazed roof. The church's interior is also painted in different shades of pale blue. It is one of the major landmarks of Bratislava, and you can see visitors taking pictures of the church all the time. The church is originally called St. Elisabeth Roman Catholic church and conducts services and prayers every day. There is a narrow stone walkway around the church where you can enjoy a relaxing walk while exploring the beautiful exterior. The Blue Church is a fine example of beautiful architecture and is a perfect backdrop for your photos. It was designed by a Hungarian architect in the 20th Century and is nothing like any other churches you have ever seen.
