The Al Masmak fort represents the 19th Century architecture and the royal kingdom of Riyadh. This clay and mud fort, after numerous renovations, now stands tall with numerous stories linked to its past. The Al-Khokha or small, narrow door entrance to the fort speaks about the mindful defense technique used in the yesterdays. Hosting a huge collection of historical artifacts including arms and guns used in the war, the fort has many untold secrets hidden within its structure. A small mosque inside the fort caters to the religious needs of its occupants. The fort surrounded by a busy market lets the visitors carry sweet memories in the form of souvenirs of the place with them.
