This world center, also called Ithra, is located in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It was developed by the Saudi Aramco Oil Company and inaugurated by King Salman bin Abdulaziz on December 1, 2017. It houses a museum, library, cinema, auditorium, and exhibition halls. It was designed by the Norwegian architectural firm Snohetta. The building architecture alone is worth the visit. The museum exhibition is stunning and diversified and contains world-class quality displays. The museum sheds light on Saudi Arabian geological, biological, and social history. The vast and very modern library has more than 220,000 books and 2 million digital books. It also has many labs and a guidance center for seekers of knowledge from around the world. People can visit the center for inspiration, exploration, knowledge, social interaction, and entertainment.
It is 18 km from the city center. One can hire a taxi or take a personal vehicle.
There are no meters in Saudi Arabian taxis, so the price must be agreed in advance. As most drivers do not speak English, one should ask an Arabic speaker to order a taxi for you.
