The museum will take you on a tour beginning from the origins of Burmese civilization. The museum hosts artifacts and fossils which are a million years old. It also hosts precious artifacts about the development of the civilization of Myanmar. A floor is dedicated to music, song, and dance of Myanmar. It also hosts an impressive display about the Burmese Royalty. The palanquin used by the Chief Monk of King Thibaw is one such exquisite piece. This museum will open up what Myanmar was and what Myanmar is.
The most eyecatching piece is the exquisite Royal Lion Throne of the last monarch King Thibaw in all its splendour. This throne is made of Yamanay timber and is adorned at its base with lions. The whole piece is heavily gilded. The king used this throne during sessions with his ministers or while delivering his verdicts on important matters.
