Tangier, a Moroccan port on the strait of Gibraltar, has been a doorway between Africa and Europe since time immemorial. Its whitewashed, hill-side medina is home to the Dar El Makhzen, a palace of the Sultans which is known to locals as well as visitors as ‘ The Kasbah Museum’. The museum is located in the Kasbah district of Tangier which attracts a number of visitors.
Visitors can take in the knowledge of Moroccan heritage during the Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze, and Iron ages. The museum also depicts the Arabic, Phonecian, and colonial influence on the state of Morocco. Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures also displays Islamic art and crafts and collections mainly on architectures, mosaic, and wooden textures. The inscriptions are mainly in French or Arabic. It also exhibits the rare archaeological testimonies of the Christian Community. Here, you can also find sculptures, pottery vessels, glass bottles, and ivory.
The museum has an open courtyard decorated with a central marble fountain and surrounded by eight houses. Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures also showcases famous ceramic products like earthenware, porcelain, and bricks. The museum also has archaeological evidence of the Roman period. There is a treasury hall engraved with wood and a wooden locker tied with iron for reserving the funds. The visitors can spend time for recreation in the Andalusian Garden. The garden is home to many local fruit trees such as fig trees, olive trees, and palm trees. This is a beautiful museum with an extensive range of Moroccan artifacts and architecture that lets the visitors learn about Moroccan history, art, and culture.

The nearest airport is Tangier Airport (TNG) and from there. You can take either of these modes to commute between the two places:
By taxi: One can hire a taxi to reach the palace and the distance between the airport and Kasbah Palace is 13.6 km that will take 16 minutes to cover the distance and you are expected to pay 160 to 190 MAD.
Drive: You can also drive to the palace and the fuel cost will approximately be 13 to 18 MAD.
