About Universal Studios Japan

Universal Studios are world famous and they certainly don’t disappoint with their theme park in Japan. On the contrary, this park is possibly one of the most visited amusement parks in the country, second only to the Tokyo Disney Resort.

There are eight sections in this humongous amusement park. You can take your pick from Hollywood, Jurassic Park, San Francisco, New York, Waterworld, Amity Village, Universal Wonderland, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Each section surpasses one another, and you will be left in utter amazement!

Movie fanatics will have a blast on the roller coasters and simulator based on classic movies like Jurassic Park, Spiderman, Terminator 2, and Back to the Future. There are numerous options for children as well. There is something for everyone in the family. How to reach

By Train:

The entrance gate of the Universal Studios Japan is a five-minute walk from Universal City Station on the JR Yumesaki Line (aka JR Sakurajima Line). From Osaka Station, there are several direct trains per hour (15 minutes, 180 Yen).

From Kansai Airport:

Take a JR airport rapid to Nishikujo Station and transfer to the JR Yumesaki Line to Universal City Station (75 minutes, 1190 Yen).

By Bus:

Some overnight buses from other cities stop at Universal Studios

By Ferry:

Captain Line connects the Universal Studios Japan with the Osaka Aquarium (10 minutes, 700 Yen one way, 1300 Yen roundtrip). 

Tips

  • It's best to plan your trip to Universal Studios on weekdays such as Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. The amusement spot draws huge crowds on weekends. 
  • Better buy your tickets in advance to avoid endless waiting hours.
  • Unlike Tokyo Disneyland, the tickets to Universal Studios cannot be booked online from their official website. It can only be purchased from authorized ticket agents.  
  • You have not only got to be prepared for long waiting hours at ticket counters but also to enter popular rides. It can take up to 90 minutes at times! 
  • Do some research on what are the best rides for you and your family. What's it that you are looking for - thrill-seeking adventure, movie-oriented fun or kids dayout?
  • Get a Universal Express Pass for fast and easy access to the most popular attractions. 
  • Do not miss the biggest attractions of the year, such as, 4D animated simulator ride and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
