About National Museum of Iran

70-year-old museum. Houses close to 300,000 artefacts. Largest Museum of History and Archeology in the country. Completed in the year 1928, it was designed by a French Architect, André Godard. Consists of art-deco style brickwork detailing. From ceramics, stone figure, carvings to pottery and excavations from Persepolis, Shush, Rey and the likes, the museum is a beautiful place indeed. Officially inaugurated in 1937, the construction of the museum took two years to complete. In the new complex, the ground floor has been dedicated to contemporary exhibits.
