The Sri Venkateswara Swamy Vaari Temple in Tirumala is the most-visited holy place in India. It is also the richest temple of wealth. Sri Venkateswara was an incarnation of Vishnu, the god of absolute truth in the Hindu religion. He is said to have arrived to save mankind from the fourth stage of the world described in Sanskrit literature. The temple is also known as the Tirumala Temple, Tirupati Temple, and Tirupati Balaji Temple. Visit to see the 640 inscriptions in Kannada, Sanskrit, Tamil, and Telugu. Follow the story of the Telugu Sankirtanas and his descendants on the 3,000 copper plates.
Come to the Tirumala Temple on your pilgrimage. Get your token to partake in Darshan devotion. Donate to the Hundi Pot so the marriage debt of Srinivasa can be repaid to Kubera. Or, you may choose to have your hair tonsured as an offering to Vishnu. Legend has it the hair collected is given to Neela Devi for her kindness in giving Vishnu her hair to cover his bald spot.
