About Arc de Triomphe

The most monumental of all triumphal arches, the Arc de Triomphe was built between 1806 and 1836. People who fought and died for France in the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars are honored here with their names.

All French victories and generals' names are inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Apart from this, we can find the tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I beneath the vault. All in all, it will give you a very rich experience and is bound to take you back in time! For some patriotic fervor for one's motherland and a sense of awe at the sacrifices of the many martyrs of war, visit this magnificent Arch and spend a moment or two in memory of these truly noble souls.
