Lola Ya Bonobo is a sanctuary for the endangered species. It was founded by Claudine Andre in 1994, Lola ya Bonobo is the world's only sanctuary which takes care of orphaned bonobos. They have around 100 bonobos here in a great natural habitat under full care and protection. There is a nursery to take care of baby bonobos who have been abandoned by their mothers. The bonobos are captive, but they still live in an environment similar to the wild. The name of the place means 'paradise for bonobos' in Lingala, the local dialect. The surroundings are full of natural beauty and greenery, which is very relaxing and calming. It is a good destination to spend time with family and friends. It is a must visit for animal lovers and nature lovers. It supports a noble cause and is considered to be a highlight of the visit to Kinshasa.
