About Parque Quinta Normal

Quinta Normal Park is an urban park situated in Santiago, Chile. It has pathways for the visitors to take a stroll and enjoy the tranquility of the place. It encompasses a large number of museums including the Chilean National Museum of Natural History with a Museum of Memory and Human Rights, and a library nearby. The park was founded in 1841 for greenhouse cultivating a wide variety of foreign plant species. The park stretches up to 88 acres. The park has a waterway for children to play and paddle boats. It was once the place for the Chilean International Exhibition. There are face painters, cartoon characters and the additional feature of the park is an aquatic recreational area. The prominent center in the park is the Chilean Museum Natural History with various departments such as paleontology, anthropology, botany, entomology, and zoology. Also, a notable statement piece to be seen here is that of the mummy Nino del Cerro El Plomo the well-preserved remains of an Incan child.

How to reach

By bus: Take PA7 - Parada 1 / (M) to reach Parque Quinta Normal. 3 km via Moneda which takes 11 minutes to reach the place.1980 CLP  Bus fare. 

By taxi: 2204 CLP and it will take approximately 8 to10 minutes to reach the place.

By Metro: Gruta de Lourdes, Av. San Pablo 19 meters 1 minute by walk.
