La Chascona is one of the houses owned by the Nobel Literature prize winner Pablo Neruda. The name La Chascona is derived from his Mistress's curly red hair. This ship-shaped house attracts tourists with great zeal. The characteristic feature of the house is a kitchen resembling a ship's cabin and the living room facing the lighthouse and the sea. The houses apart from La Chascona owned by Pablo Neruda are Valparaiso and Isla Negra.
