About Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica Cathedral

The Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral is the primatial church of Canada and the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Quebec. How to reach

By car/cab: From the city center, the cathedral is 2.1 km away which will take about 6 mins to reach via Boulevard Charest E.

By bus: Walk for 2 mins (170 m) from the city center to Place J.-Cartier and board the 801 towards Pointe-de-Sainte-Foy (Ouest). Once you reach Place d'Youville, walk for 900 m (which will take about 11 mins) to reach the cathedral. 

By bike: From the city center, ride for 2 km via Rue du Roi which will take about 13 mins to reach the location.

  • Plan to arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes earlier than the service starts as you'll want to find the best seat.
  • Look for signs before taking photographs.
  • Dress conservatively.
