About Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec

Since its inception, the Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec has promoted the work of the province’s most talented artists, giving them the space they deserve to display some of their most marvelous works. At present, the grand museum has over 38,000 works offering a vast array of Quebec art from the seventeenth century to date. Little by little, the museum began to concentrate extensively on art, making it much different than the other museums which display national archives. With four pavilions dedicated to contemporary art, modern art, historical art, and the family gallery, this museum offers masterpieces, serving eye candy like no other.

Must See

The beauty of a museum inside a park which has so much of historical importance is worth seeing.

  • The back of the Musée provides a magnificent view of this space and the St. Lawrence River. Sculpted ceilings, columns topped with capitals, and noble materials.
  • This pavilion’s Neo-Classical architecture is imposing.
  • The building is a powerful architectural statement covered entirely in glass, providing great transparency and bathed in natural light. There's also an art garden around the museum.

  • Flash photos are not allowed. It is still possible to take photographs for personal purposes in public areas and in some showrooms. Be attentive to the indications to this effect at the entrance of the rooms.
