About Lake Pomorie

Pomorie Lake, located 25 km away from Burgas and 2 km north of Pomorie. A Sandspit and an artificial dike separate it from the sea. The northern part of the lake is used for the production of salt, this tradition is running more than 20 centuries in the area. Pomorie Lake and its adjoining territories have a stretch over 760 hectares were declared as a Protected Area under the Bulgarian legislation.

How to reach

Take Burgabus from Burgas south to Sarafovo and then again a bus to Pomorie. Frequency of bus is every 10 Min and the distance is covered in 30 Minutes.

Tips

  • Bring binoculars to watch the birdlife in the salt pans
  • Pomorie is home to the Black Sea winery, which produce excellent quality wines and brandy, so do not forget to taste local wines
