If you are a lover of any kind of culture and history, this art complex is just the right place for you. Not only does it house a variety of museums, but it also hosts many dance and music studios, and serves many artists-in-residence as well. You will find a variety of art installations in the square too, open to your perusal. For the uninitiated, this complex also houses tons of little stores, bars, cafes, and game culture spaces. No matter what your field of interest and what age-group you fall into, you will find something to learn in this collection of over 60 cultural institutions and spots. There is also a little park in the middle of the square which must be seen to be believed.

How to reach

Public transportation in Vienna is excellent, one can also get here by foot from the central square as it is about a kilometer from here.
These bus lines 48A,4A and 59A stop near Museumsquartier. By metro take the line U1 and at Karlsplatz switch to U2 to go to the MuseumsQuartier.
From Vienna International Airport, one can take a taxi to Wien Mitte and then switch to U3 to go to the Volkstheater, the main stop to the MuseumsQuartier.

Cost of a single ticket for tram, a bus is € 2.40, one can buy in advance and can also buy it on the bus or tram, the ticket cost will be €2.60.
Daily tickets prices are – € 8 for 24 hours;  € 14.10 for 48 hours and € 17.10 for 72 hours.
 

Tips

  • One can eat, drink and shop at one of the many cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops in the museum quarter.
  • Put aside extra time to walk around.
  • Restrooms are there.
  • The Museum offers special guided tours for disabled people on request.
  • Wheelchairs are available free of charge.  
  • No flash photographs. 
  • Buy tickets online to avoid a queue.
  • Pick up quirky souvenirs at MQ Point.

The MQ Kombi Ticket (€32) includes entry into every museum.
the MQ Art Ticket (€26) gives admission into the Leopold Museum, Mumok, and Kunsthalle.
