Erected in 1574, the Darwish Pasha Mosque is a primaeval Ottoman-era mosque in Damascus. The building has unique and beautiful walls with alternate black and white stones. It houses a prayer hall preceded by a lovely portico and a big rectangular courtyard. There are two medallions made of polychrome and a cylindrical minaret, crowned by a conical roof. The building itself is beautiful and the inside of the mosque will remind you of the great craftmanship of the Ottoman.
