About Huaca Pucllana

Huaca Pucllana or Huaca Juliana is a pyramid built from seven staggered platforms. It is built of adobe and clay bricks, dedicated to the God Pachacamac and has survived for more than 1,000 years. It was built around 500 A.D. This was an administrative as well as a ceremonial center of the Lima Culture civilization. A burial vault was uncovered with human remains, and artifacts have been found from the later Wari culture, which thrived in this area from about AD 500 to 900.
