The Chichén Itzá, otherwise known as one of the seven wonders of the world, are a series of ancient buildings that make up a sizeable pre-Columbian city designed and built by the Mayan people in the Terminal Classic Period. Archaeologists found this large ancient community in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico. This ancient city was spoken about in Mesoamerican literature and experts believe that this pre-Columbian city was home to diverse ethnic groups. Certainly, the rich culture and history is not a sight you’ll want to miss!
