The Nguuni Nature Sanctuary is a part of the Baobab Farm which is located along Nguu Tatu Hills in Kiembeni area Mombasa. It is a wonderful man-made sanctuary and has received the United Nations Environment programme Global 500 roll of honor. The sanctuary is located within urban limits of 4 Km from the Bamburi cement works main entrance atop a hill and comprises of 3 distinct habitats. Open Savannah, Woodland, and wetlands which all attract different spices of birds. Visit the place to enjoy a quality time watching animals, surrounded by the beauty of nature, and an open-air barbeque. Its an African wild experience from the comfort of the resort. Enjoy nature, flora fauna and food along with a lot of activities that one can get engage in at the sanctuary. They range from game drives, a visit to the ostrich farm, elands & oryx farm, feeding the giraffes, taking a bird walk, bird watching, sitting by the campfire and perhaps the most loved moment that of catching a glimpse of the exquisite sunset behind the Nguu Tatu Hills. Giraffes, waterbucks, Ostriches roam free and as one visits this place, you can cut off from the city hustle and bustle and enjoy the serene animals as they feed during sunset and come and feed on your hands if you are willing. Small rustic shelters are propped up for visitors to enjoy their picnics or if they want to barbeque their packed foods.... the evenings are spent, sipping your best-brought beverages, as the attendants light up a bonfire and you chit chat under the starry skies.
