The Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve covers part of the Tian Shan Mountains into Uzbekistan.
The reserve protects diverse flora and fauna. Forty-four species of mammals in the reserve are on the Red List of endangered species. You may see some more often than others, like the Himalayan brown bear, porcupine or marmot. The snow leopard is almost the stuff of legends, but the ibex, lynx, and wolves roam free.
Aksu-Zhabagly is a wilderness of diverse environments. Breathe in the fresh, cool mountain air in juniper forests, meadows, and glaciers. In this nature reserve, you are limited only by your imagination for things to do. Hike or ride the trails on horseback, climb the rock cliffs, or sit still and do a bit of birdwatching.
