This Tower is 688 feet tall, it is both the Cultural Centre and one of the best tourist attractions in Santo Domingo. There is a chapel inside the structure which has Columbus' tomb. It is said that the bones of Columbus were emoved from another Cathedral spot to here. Columbus is considered to be the man who discovered America, from Europe. A unique feature in this monument is its lighting system which has 149 searchlights and has such a high beam that you can see up to 44 miles of distance, because it offers a 70-kilowatt beam. You can see all the attractions in this Museum as you walk. These range from a boat of Cuba and intricate Colombian jewellery, which are really interesting, so don't out on having a look at it. You're bound to have a great time exploring the different antiques and artefacts present in the monument. Make sure you plan such that you have sufficient time to enjoy this site peacefully.
