Deep down under
Is a ferry that sank off the coast of Larnaca. Human lives were spared but the cargo went down. Miraculously, much of it has been preserved making this site one of the top ten wreck diving sites in the world. The cargo ranges from trucks, cars, military equipment, telecommunication systems and food. No wonder colorful fish now feed on the wreck, which has turned into a living breathing coral reef with a wonderful plethora of marine creatures. Recreation and adventure - this wreck has both. For those, who cannot dive, there are glass bottom boats, which take tourists down for a top view. One million eggs still remain exactly as they were when the ferry sank. Imagine how much protein that is! What a waste; but no - at least fish are nibbling on them. Go see for yourself.
The distance from the city center to the wreck site is 48.6 km. A public bus will reach you there in 1 hour 10 minutes with a one-way ticket costing 4.5 EUR.
A private car will take you there in 40 minutes. Rental starts from 4.5 EUR. Once you reach the site, you can book a diving tour or a glass boat ride.
The timing will be decided by the companies offering the diving tours.
