Buses will take a long time to reach, a better option is to take a taxi.
There are many buses that leave from the Mercado Publico in Santa Marta to Rioacha and stop at the main entrance of the Park.
Weekends are mostly crowded so try to come on weekdays.
Bring your passport and visit early to the park.
One can do lots of activities over there like boat riding, snorkeling, swimming, hiking and many more.
However, if you have limited mobility, or are a wheelchair user, then it's not a good place for you.
The “no swimming” precautionary should be taken seriously.
Buy the ticket online to avoid the queue.
Bring cash with you as most of the restaurants do not accept credit cards and also if you buy the ticket at park then you have to pay by cash.
Be cautious while entering the place, you can find insurance scam on your way.
You have to walk a lot after entering to the place, better to stay overnight for a day.
Try the fish fry from nearby restaurants. Bring your own food.
Don't forget to carry your camera.
Carry your own hygiene things (toilet paper), insect repellent and don't walk in the park at night.
Carry an ample amount of water to avoid dehydration.
Wear comfortable shoes.

For students under the age of 25, you can purchase a ticket to Parque Tayrona for 8000 COP. Bring a student ID.
For others, the entrance fee is around 56,000 COP.
