About Spanish Banks

The Spanish Banks, although just a single bank divided into three sections, is located near the University of British Columbia. The beach typically has low tides making it a perfect location for swimmers to go for a nice dip in the ocean and cool waters. It's also a perfect place for kite-surfing. The Bank was named in commemoration of the meeting between the Spaniards and the English. The beach is surrounded by a grassy field, making it a great spot for families to play volleyball and soccer matches. The Spanish Banks is a quiet beach perfect for family outings.
