Matterhorn The “mountain of mountains” is one of the highest summits in the Alps between Switzerland and Italy. Resembling an almost perfect triangle, jutting into the sky. Locals and tourists alike are fascinated by the Matterhorn. It is an alpine skier’s dream, the highest summer ski region in Europe. Don’t like snow? That’s okay too. You can get a view of the mountain from the neighboring peaks. There’s a viewing platform on the Gornergrat, and on the Rothorn. Don’t miss a visit to Zermatt. You’ll have to take the shuttle into the quaint little mountain town because there are no cars allowed. Known as the “Mountain Village of Records” you can visit the Matterhorn Museum there for interesting facts and photos of the climbers crazy enough to ascend the Matterhorn. Pop into one of the boutiques and shops, and stay in one of the hotels for your Matterhorn experience.
