About Rhine Falls

Rhine Falls is a “Naturschauspiel”, which means “Nature’s Play” in German. It is the largest waterfall in Switzerland and Europe. Located on the Rhine River they are almost 500 feet wide, and 75 feet high. Take a boat trip up the Rhine to the falls, and climb the very steep and narrow stairs to one of the viewing platforms on either side of the river. You can also access the falls by strolling or cycling the Belvedere panoramic trail. Go zip-lining at the adventure park for a unique view over the water and also pay a visit to Schloss Laufen at Rhine Falls where the Historama exhibition in one wing of the castle will help you discover the importance of the falls on nature and the economics of the region. And as your final stop, you don’t want to miss grabbing a bite at Schlössi Wörth for a taste of the region’s traditional fare. Be entranced by the sound of rushing water. Eat while you enjoy the panoramic view of Rhine Falls at play, a view that inspired many famous painters and authors.
