About Praia da Marinha

Pictures don’t do enough justice to this jaw-dropping scenic beach location. Many would agree that the iconic beach of Praia da Marinha is something out of a storybook. It is no wonder that this spellbinding beach in Algarve is an extremely popular tourist destination in the country. As soon as you reach the beach, you will notice the grandeur of the place. It is surrounded by steep cliffs on one end and the bluest of oceans on the other end.

Once you have soaked in the view from the top, it is time to get your feet in the sand and feel the wind in your hair at the beach down below. You will have to take the long stairs down to the beach. There is a restaurant situated at the end of the stairs where you can refuel if you want. There is a huge rock that you will have to go around to get to the main beach area. Be mindful of the water when there are high tides.

Once in the center of the beach, keep an eye out for the iconic ‘M rock.’ It has been named such because of its resemblance to the letter M. This famous rock star (pun intended) has been filmed in numerous blockbuster movies as well! What’s more, in 2018, Marinha Beach was chosen as one of the 20 most beautiful beaches with cliffs in the world, by CNN. This is one place that you will longingly reminiscence for years to come.
