Located in North Island, this is the oldest national park in New Zealand. Its Maori culture and spiritual significance have resulted in the park getting acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Also known as the land of legend, this park is home to 3 active volcanoes – Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. Explore the park’s beauty and diversity with our range of activities suitable for all ages, interests and abilities.
Regarded as the world’s best one-day hikes, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing offers phenomenal volcanic scenery and beautiful views of Lake Taupo and Mt. Tarankai. An outdoor person? Check out some of the overnight hikes; 4-day Northern Circuit or the 6-day Round the Mountain Track. For the less adventure-friendly, there are a series of short nature walks where you can explore a wide range of flora and fauna. The short walks are also an opportunity for you to experience the dramatic waterfalls; Taranaki Falls, Silica Rapids and more. Choose from a choice of accommodation, dining and other services and have a memorable experience.
