How to reach

It is 8.3 kms from the city centre. 

You can take any sharing pick-up trucks which would drop you at the base of the hill, these can be fetched after every 20 minutes and take 500-1000 kyat. 

Private vehicles would take around 5,000 kyat.

While motobikes take around 1000-2000 kyat.

  • You can visit beautiful temples and sculptures.
  • Locals are nice people, brush your English to be more conversant.
  • Driving to the top and exploring the pagoda is a fun experience.
  • The atmosphere is good for walking and other activities.

  • You get to explore a historical place with Buddhist sculptures.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
  • Don't use a camera, use a phone and buy handicrafts as souvenirs.
