The country of Malaysia has gained prominence for its equatorial rainforests. There are numerous untouched sections of the forests that are assumed to be housing ancient ecosystems. No wonder tourists flock to this country to witness its many parks and conservation projects, one such example is the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation. Torchbearer of its kind, a reserve, a centre promising change for these beautiful creatures, untouched by the urban hand the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center tops any list of places to visit in Malaysia. Opened in 1964, the project includes training young orangutans on how to survive in the wild. These baby orangutans had either been orphaned or rescued from captivity. Make sure that you visit the centre during feeding time, the adorable baby orangutans will steal your heart away. Tucked away in Sandakan territory the fauna around the reserve bright green and clean air are definitely a plus point for those who want to experience a nice day in the open.
