The Bornholm Art Museum located in Bornholm is a showcase of art and the history of art in Denmark, particularly in Bornholm. You can combine a visit to this museum with a visit to the coast nearby, so savor some art and spend some time in the water, all in a day's work. The old museum as well as the new extension museum house hundreds of paintings, sketches and sculptures. The museum is split into three levels and slopes towards the sea. The galleries are divided by a central street where water flows down from the Helligdomskilde healing spring into the sea. The collection in the museum is designed around the Bornholm school of painters and their focus on nature and tranquility. You will see samples from the 19th century. The museum is wheelchair friendly and it hosts over 50,000 visitors every season.
