About Copenhagen Zoo

More than just a zoo, this zoological garden will give you the opportunity to explore a variety of ecosystems and wildlife around you. Open all-year-round, the zoo isn't just about walking through the site and seeing animals and birds; This 11- hectare property allows you to really immerse yourself into itself. The zoo is divided into different ecosystems of each continent. You can take a small pushcart to visit each one. Familiarise yourself with over 4000 animals, such as pandas, birds, rainforest snakes, lemurs, squirrel monkeys,  and sea lions. There are also many interactive and informative sessions always on display in different parts of the park. There is also a rare species display famous for its Tasmanian Devils. You can also visit the animal food kitchen, and play games in the Zoofari playground. Visit the sumptuous cafeteria when the exploring tires you out.

How to reach

By bus:

Take a bus from Hovedbanegården to Zoologisk Have. It is a journey of 2.6 km that is covered in 9 minutes and costs 17 to 24 DKK.

By taxi:

Take a taxi from Copenhagen to Copenhagen Zoo. It is a journey of 3.1 km that is covered in 4 minutes and costs 80 to 100 DKK.

Tips

  • Children should be always kept under the strict supervision of the parents while visiting the zoo.
  • Watch out as the sea lions sometimes put on an impromptu show.
  • You can feed the animals at various times. Check out the official website for details.
  • The zoo's policy prohibits bringing dogs or other animals into the zoo, with the exception of guide and service dogs.
  • Cigarettes and sanitary napkins are NOT sold in the Zoo. Diapers can be handed out in Zoo's main entrance in acute cases.
  • The zoo is wheelchair friendly. However, they have a limited number of wheelchairs available for lending. It is recommended to pre-reserve them.
