The name of the castle Krumlov comes from the Latin expression castrum Crumnau or the ancient German Crumbenowe that reflects the configuration of the landscape - Krumbein ouwe, means the place on the rugged meadow. The State Castle of Český Krumlov is the historical site in the Central European region, showcasing the architectural standard, cultural tradition, and expanse timeline, built during the 14th to 19th centuries and still well-preserved with the original ground plan layout, material structure, interior installation, and architectural details.
From the East, Latrán Street, the castle complex in Český Krumlov is accessible through the Red Gate that leads to the Ist Courtyard of Český Krumlov Castle, the romping ground called Rejdiště. The left of Red Gate has the Pharmacy Castle now Český Krumlov Study Centre and Old Burgrave's House, which was the office of the highest official and administrator. The right side of the Red Gate is the former Salt-house, which was the original storage of Gothic salt. The buildings continue to the original Old Pharmacy, and the Dominion Brewery leading to the main buildings with the right courtyard side, which accommodate the princely cheese-diary.
The next building is the former Hospital with the very end of the first courtyard spacing out a small house for the court gun maker. The large coach-house from the 18th century covers the opposite side. The middle courtyard has a small park planted with aged trees and dominated by a stone fountain of the 16th century. There are multiple castles that stand across the area, with courtyards and Renaissance-era paintings. The castles and courtyards are beautifully surrounded by a small picturesque lake. The Baroque Theatre at the Český Krumlov Castle symbolizes a Baroque stage. The original theatre is preserved with both the actual objects and the site has been extended with the auditorium, building, stage, orchestra pit, technology, machinery, decorations, props, costumes, lighting, fire extinguishers, and so on.
