When in Varadero, step away from the white sand to a lush green park. Josone Park was named after the owners of the nearby rum distillery in Cárdenas, José Fermín Iturrioz y Llaguno and his wife Onelia. The property was appropriated after the Cuban Revolution and later became a public park.
Dance to the rhythm of Cuban music at night, or take your picture like a Cuban girl celebrating her quinceañera. Josone Park is the perfect spot for an outing. Rent a rowboat or water-bike for a tour on the artificial lake. Go for a swim in the pool, or go bowling at the bowling alley. Rest your weary feet and enjoy the fare at any of the bars and restaurants with international cuisines.
The nine-acres park is home to colourful birds, including geese and ostrich. Be sure to say, “Hello!”
The park is located very close to Varadero city centre. From the Varadero city centre, it is only a 15 minutes walk. You can also take a taxi which will cost you around 6 CUC to 8 CUC.
