Categorised under the type of Living History Museum, the Heritage Park Historical Village is located in Calgary, a city in Alberta. This is the country’s second-largest living museum and also rated as one of the most visited places in Canada. The park was inaugurated in the year1964 and presently includes four different areas that represent different periods in Canadian history. The four areas are known as the Pre-Railway Settlement Village, the Hudson Bay Company’s Fur Trading Fort, the Railway Prairie Town and Heritage Town Square, which was opened in 2009. It has more than 100 exhibits, which include a 1981-built roundhouse, a passenger train, horse-drawn wagons and many more. The Heritage Park Historical Village has two operating seasons. The whole park remains open between May and October, but Gasoline Alley Museum, which is a part of the village is open throughout the year.
Getting by bus is the cheapest option to reach Heritage Park Historical Village. It is considered as one of the favourite places in the country during the summer. The Gasoline Alley Museum is the top-rated attraction in the park. It represents a revolutionary era in Canadian history, specifically western Canada.
The gasoline Alley Museum houses antique gas pumps, vintage vehicles and other automotive parts. It has a gallery, named Selkirk Grille Gallery which can be booked for events. There is also a gift shop where visitors can find out old fashioned stuff, form candy to sundries. Besides the tour, visitors can also experience a fresh menu at The Selkirk, the restaurant that also remains open throughout the year.
By Bus: Visitors can take a bus from Calgary, Alberta to Heritage Park Historical Village. They have to take a Line 304 bus from WB 6 AV SW @ W. of 7 ST SW to Rockyview Hospital, from where the village is a 17 minutes stroll.
Total distance, including the walk from the last stop, is around 13.2 kilometres and it will take around 40 minutes to reach the spot including the walk.

By Car: People can also take a car from Calgary to reach the village.
