In the Dâmrei Mountains of Cambodia, you will find the Preah Monivong Bokor National Park. This ASEAN Heritage Park covers 1,423.17 square-kilometres (549.5 sq mi).
The park was named after King Sisowath Monivong. He visited the area in the mountains and had a Buddhist temple constructed there in 1924. He died in the park 17 years later. The Buddhist temple isn’t the only spiritual place in Preah Monivong Bokor. In 1928 the French colonialists built a Catholic church, which is unusual in Cambodia.
Preah Monivong Bokor is known for the Bokor Hill Station where those same French colonialists settled in 1921. It is perhaps better known for the Lok Yeay Mao status. It is the tallest statue dedicated to the heroine of Cambodian Buddhism in the country.
It is 38.3 km away from the city center.
You can reach there by Taxi or Bus.
It costs about 40 to 50 $. (164240 to 205300 Cambodian riel)
