About Pairi Daiza

A perfect way to unwind would be to go to nature and rejuvenate oneself. What better place to go than the Pairi Daiza? This is a privately-owned zoo and botanical garden located in Brugelette in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. It is built on the site of a former Cistercian Abbey of Cambron. This 65-hectare wide park houses more than 7,000 animals. The animal-themed park has come up with an indigenous way of rendering “the worlds.” They have divided the zoo into 8 parts, where each sub-world has its own set of plants, animals, and birds as per the assigned theme. In “The Kingdom of Ganesha,” you will feel like you have stepped into the Indonesian archipelago and the rest of Southeast Asia in the midst of elephants and white tigers. While “The Middle Kingdom” explores the riches and culture of China with adorable pandas. As the name suggests, “The Land of the Cold” is filled with white ice floes, arctic tundra, and animals including the walruses, penguins, and the Siberian tiger. You can feel the flapping of colorful winged birds in the “Cambron-Abbey.” Remember to put on your swim gear in the “Cambron-by-the-Sea” section. And who can resist the charm and raw appeal of Africa and its animals in “The Land of Origins?” Revel in the grace of the Western Grey Kangaroo and the adorable Koala in “The Southern Cape.” Towards the end is “The Last Frontier,” which houses mighty brown bears, sea lions, and pumas. If you haven’t had your fill of this delightful flora and fauna, then you can refuel yourself overnight at the resort. How wonderful would that be?
