The Arad fort is a pure example of Arabian Architecture and design, the fort exudes its strength with every grain and uses the past glory days. Now slightly abandoned, visitors can tour the several cylindrical towers and get up all the way till the marksmen holes. The fort also has a trench surrounding it, a very common feature in Arabian design, it was once filled with water from the ocean, now dried up and left as an empty hole. The walk around the fort gives the visitors a panoramic view of both the ocean and this desert fort, both of them different and refreshing. The fort is a great way to delve deeper into the history of Bahrain especially its role in the bronze and copper ages.
