This gorgeous palace was created by the same architect who also made the Salzburg palace. Hellbrunn basically served as a summer and pleasure palace for the archbishops of Salzburg. Used typically for day picnics, the amusing part of this palace has no bedrooms! The most popular part of this palace are its massive gardens and the trick fountains at the centre of the grounds. The fountains are hidden and performative as well, in places such as the outdoor dinner tables, watch out! In the winter months, this outdoor area is turned into a beautiful advent garden for Christmas. To commemorate the tourism and the fame of this place, there was also a special collector's coin made with the Hellbrunn Palace in 2004. The entire experience of walking through the palace grounds is promised to be fun and full of humour and surprise, not to mention, some stunning architecture and landscape. The lovely little town of Hellbrunn and its surrounding zoo and stores are worth a visit too.
To reach the destination, one can take the bus no 25 or bus no 270 which stops at Salzburg Alpenstrabe/Abzw Hellbrunn bus station.
The cost of a bus trip is approximately 4.80 €
One can also drive or take a taxi it is about 7 – 8 kms from the center.
