Lying on the border of Albania and Montenegro, this is known by various other names like “Lake Scutari”, “Lake Shkoder” and “Lake Shkodra”. Founded in 1968, this freshwater lake resembles a dolphin with its head in Albania and tail in Montenegro. It offers a diverse variety of flora and fauna. This is a must-visit for bird lovers as it houses 270 species of birds including some of the last pelicans in Europe. The lake is a witness to Montenegrin history with around 18 important historic monuments situated around the lake.

It is about 8 kms from Shkoder.
You can take a taxi that would cost 200 lek.
